Courier is a delivery option that allows you to request a driver through the Uber app to transport your package(s) to a person waiting at a designated drop-off location. You can also request to have a package sent to you from a designated sender.
- Where can I find Courier?
Navigate to the Uber app home screen, choose the Courier icon, and follow the in-app instructions.
- What can I send?
Items sent using Courier have specific monetary value limits and weight limits per vehicle type. For delivery by vehicle, you can send packages that:
- Don’t contain any prohibited items¹
- Fit comfortably in the requested vehicle
- Are closed, securely sealed, and ready for curbside or door pickup
- Are within the monetary value and weight limits for your location²
For delivery by bike or scooter, if available in your location, you can send packages that:
- Don’t contain any prohibited items¹
- Fit comfortably in a backpack
- Are closed, securely sealed, and ready for curbside or door pickup
- Are within the monetary value and weight limits for your location²
If your package contains a prohibited item or doesn’t follow the restrictions above, the driver or delivery person may cancel your request. Please go to the Terms and Conditions for full details. Violation of the Terms and Conditions may result in deactivation of your account without notice.

Courier is designed for local delivery, typically within a single geographical area (excluding international border crossings).
- What does the recipient need to do?
The recipient should be available to meet the delivery person at the door or curb. If you need to ask the delivery person to leave the item at the recipient’s door, you’ll be able to add delivery notes with further instructions to smooth the delivery process.
- What happens if the item is damaged during delivery?
Uber does not maintain insurance coverage for item loss, theft, or damage caused by a third party. Please go to the Terms and Conditions for full details.
- Can I send someone an item as a surprise?
We recommend that you notify the recipient of the delivery so they can meet the delivery person to retrieve the item from the vehicle. If you do send someone an item as a surprise, you’ll need to clearly instruct the delivery person, in the message section of the Uber app.
- What if I have an issue with the item delivery?
- If your item hasn’t been delivered yet, you can call or message the delivery person in the app.
- Delivery people are free to cancel your request for any reason, including, for example, if your package was too heavy, was too large for their vehicle, was not packaged securely, or contained a prohibited item.
- If the person receiving the item wasn’t available, the delivery person may try to contact you in the app to resolve the issue or coordinate a return. You’ll be responsible for costs associated with returning the package to you if necessary.
- If you haven’t yet received your package, if it was damaged during delivery, or you need help coordinating a delivery in case of terminated trips or canceled requests, contact Uber Support for help.
